Part 1: Learn to Code!Learning to program is not always as hard as you think. Codeacademy is a great resource with step-by-step tutorials that teach you how to code and HTML/CSS are the programming languages of web design. In the beginning, your code will make for a clunky and awkward page, but as you master the skills of HTML and CSS you'll have the freedom to design and structure websites however you want!
For this assignment, you need to complete the first 8 units in Codeacademy: HTML/CSS. When you log into Codeacademy, scroll down to the Language Skill portion and select HTML/CSS. Because this task is rather large, it counts as a level 1 and 2 project. Part 2: Let's Double-CheckBefore you dive into your first project, it's good to double-check what you've learned. The assignment below a small assessment tool to help make sure that you remember what you just learned. It counts as a level 1 project. You'll need to get 100% before moving on. Make a copy of the assignment in your shared folder, and let me know in class when you've finished!
Part 3: Get Coding! Now that you have a handle on HTML, it's time to build your first project. Your intro project is below, and is considered a level 3 project! If you finish this project and want to try more, share your project idea with Mlle. LeClair, for more credit along the web design path.
